Buy Aprons is a thriving online store based in South Africa that processes a large volume of orders on its website each month. When they approached me to help increase the performance of their website, I discovered that their WordPress site had numerous plugins that were causing it to slow down. In addition, uncompressed images on the website made it difficult for users to navigate between pages quickly.
To address these issues, I carefully analyzed each plugin to determine its purpose and functionality. Based on my findings, I created a custom plugin that could cater to multiple requirements and replace the need for several other plugins. By doing so, we were able to significantly reduce the number of plugins installed on the website and improve its overall performance.
Thanks to these optimizations, the Above The Fold section on the home page now loads in just 1-2 seconds, compared to the previous load time of 10+ seconds. This improvement has not only enhanced the user experience for visitors to the website, but has also increased the site’s search engine rankings and conversion rates.
