The Natural Spot is a brick-and-mortar store located in Johannesburg that specializes in selling natural products. The store has a loyal customer base, but its owners wanted to expand their reach and make their products available to more people. To achieve this, they approached me to create an online store for them.<\/p>\n
To set up the online store, we used the popular e-commerce platform WooCommerce. I also wrote a custom plugin that enabled the store to print out an order in their physical shop as soon as an online order was placed. This ensured that the staff at The Natural Spot could immediately start preparing the order, providing a seamless experience for customers.<\/p>\n
One of the challenges we faced was ensuring that the online store’s inventory was synced with that of the physical store. To address this, we utilized the same POS system that was used by Frank Street, another store owned by the same company. This allowed us to use the same product and stock sync plugin, ensuring that both the online and physical stores had the same accurate and up-to-date inventory information.<\/p>\n
Thanks to the new online store, The Natural Spot was able to increase their reach and make their products available to a wider audience.
